How to Foster Psychological Safety and Wellness at Work ft. Amanda Muhammad
Psychological Safety: The Secret to a Thriving Workplace
Hey Bold Move Besties! This week on She Built Success, we’re getting into a topic that every business owner, leader, and team member needs to understand—psychological safety. And I’ve got the perfect guest to break it down: Amanda Muhammad, the brilliant mind behind Mako Mindfulness.
You ever sit in a meeting and second-guess whether you should speak up? Or watch a great idea get shut down just because it came from the “wrong” person? Yeah, that’s a lack of psychological safety. And guess what? Only 26% of employees feel safe enough to be real at work.
Amanda knows this struggle all too well. After spending years in corporate America, she saw firsthand how stress and fear held people back. Instead of accepting it, she made it her mission to help businesses create workplaces where employees thrive—not just survive.
One of my favorite takeaways from this convo? Scenario-based learning is the secret sauce for real change. Forget those generic, check-the-box training sessions. Amanda explains how putting employees in real-world situations (instead of just throwing policies at them) makes learning stick.
And for my fellow entrepreneurs—Amanda’s faith journey is something you need to hear. She shares how the Prayer of Jabez has been her anchor through all the highs and lows of business.
So, whether you’re leading a team or building your own business, ask yourself: Am I creating a space where people feel safe to show up fully? If not—what’s one small change you can make today?
Hit play on this episode and let’s figure it out together! 🎧
